Contrary to popular belief, stretching is not all it’s cracked up to be. Warming up through a light walk or going on an exercise bike is better than muscle stretches. Stretching before your muscles have warmed up could make it more likely that you will actually damage the sinews. Instead, do your stretches after vigorous exercise.

Of course, there are some injuries that cannot be avoided because they are not your fault, and when this occurs you should get in touch with an injury claim specialist.

You can try to prevent exercise injuries form occurring y starting your work out slowly and building up the levels of intensity. You are also likely to hurt your body if you do not pay attention to every exercise that you do.

Treatment For Injuries

It is easy to injure your muscles during weight training. You might have pain in your muscles, swelling and bruising if you were to pull or strain a muscle during your weights session. To treat a muscle strain or pull you might want to apply hot and cold packs to the area, take anti-inflammatory pain relief and rub gels onto the area.

Joints are commonly sprained during high intensity exercise including wrists, knees and ankles. Exercising should NOT hurt—if you are hurting, you need to stop and restart at an easier level than what you had been doing. For the first day after getting injured, do not put any weight on the area and support it with a bandage or brace. Again, you can use anti-inflammatory and hot/cold relief.

Sometimes people will injure their rotator cuff and experience a pain when they move their shoulder or try to lift their arm. If this has happened you can still do leg exercises, just avoid straining your arm. If you have injured your rotator cuff, get yourself to a doctor for an x-ray or other diagnostic test, this is not something to be taken lightly.

You should not continue to work out if you are in pain. The body needs time to recover and rest before you start again. gentle aerobic exercises are a good way to begin exercising after an injury.

Make sure to stretch as you are cooling down. otherwise you will be stiff for the gym.
