The acai berry cleanse scam is giving the acai berry a bad name. We have all seen the fake blogs with pictures telling you the owner of the blog is a 30 something mom that lost 30 pounds or more with free acai berry cleanse supplements. When you think about it, you know that these aren’t real, but a part of you wants to believe that it is true so it can happen to you too.
There are good acai berry supplements out there, but you need to watch out for the scams. If you are going to protect yourself from the acai berry cleanse scam, you need to know what to look for.
Most scam sites are set up to look like a personal blog. It will have a testimonial of the person who supposedly lost weight and published the blog. The story will talk about how she (it is almost always a female) had no energy until she found these free trials for an acai berry supplement and a colon cleanse product.
You will usually see impressive pictures “proving” how much weight the blog owner lost. The pictures are usually stock photos and cost $1 at www.stockxpert.com and they have lots of them. Using stock photos is not a bad thing in most cases, but here people are trying to deceive you.
After the story and recommendation to order specific supplements, there will be a comments section at the bottom. In that section there will be some comments saying how great the supplements worked. The comments section will be closed so you can’t leave a comment or if it allows you to put in a comment it will never be shown.
The fancy fake blogs (flogs for short) will detect where you are in the world and say something like “Hi this is Shelly from Houston, TX and I want to help you . . . “. No matter where in the world you are, it will look like the person is your neighbor.
By just ignoring all the hype, you can protect yourself from a lot of these scams. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Paying attention to what you are signing up for is also important. If you want a free trial, that is ok. You just need to realize you will be charged for future shipments unless you cancel. Some people have had problems with certain companies. If you are worried about extra charges, use a prepaid card that won’t accept charges unless you have money in there.
If you want to avoid all the potential problems of free trials, there are lots of great deals out there. Many of the free trial supplements are also available in great deals like by 3 get 2 free. You can even buy single bottles with no strings attached. Just do a little research and you will be ok.
I will say it one more time: if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Read the fine print and you will know what you are signing up for.
